As an academic journal, JEHRHE devotes a great deal of attention to peer review. Articles are typically submitted to two reviewers for the Special issue and Varia sections, and one reviewer for all other sections. JEHRHE does everything it can to ensure an anonymous conversation between authors and reviewers (double blind review). In cases of disagreement between reviewers regarding the publication of an article, the Editorial Board will collegially make the decision. Reviewers are chosen from among the members of the Scientific Committee, but not exclusively.

The Editorial Board prepares the issues of the journal. There is no pre-established maximum or minimum number of members. The maximum term for members is nine years. The Committee consists of:

Alain Beltran, CNRS UMR Sirice

Managing editor:
Léonard Laborie, CNRS UMR Sirice

Associate editors:
Céline Berrier-Lucas, ISG / Université Paris-Dauphine
Renan Viguié, Université Bordeaux-Montaigne

Book review editors:
Sarah Claire, EHESS
Guillaume Yon, Max Planck Institute for the History of Science

Energy sources editor:
Marta Musso, King's College London
