Abstract

Roberto Cantoni’s Oil exploration, Diplomacy, and Security in the Early Cold War: The Enemy Underground, presents an alternative vision of the strategic role of oil exploration technologies in the Cold War era. Expanding the existing literature on energy history, the book analyzes the relations between technosciences and diplomacy and the role of oil prospecting in national security contributing to replace technology at the center of the geopolitical analysis.
